VIRAT KOHLI – The greatest Indian golden asset, born on 5th of November 1988, is Indian International Cricketer who currently captains the Indian National Team. Virat is by far known as the best batsman in the world. He is considered to be the best batsman of this era as he is also called ALL-ROUNDER for his right arm medium pace bowling. Not only as the bash, aggressive, outspoken member of the Indian cricket team to captaining India in all three formats of the game, Virat Kohli in a very less time has given the perfect direction to his neversay-die attitude to get on top of his career with the way he guides the ball to the stands. But as they say, with great power comes great responsibility, Kohli has been dismissed from time to time by his sceptics but the 28-year old Delhi boy has showed his other side of self-belief, persistence, passion for having long term vision till he comes back into the game.

This speaks of his ever expanding maturity developed over the time not just only as a player but also as a great human-being. Drawing a parallel to his business interests, one can dive into the lines of how his personality and maturity is visible off the field as well. As a sportsperson and a fitness freak, Kohli has obvious interests in ventures in sports and fitness apart from fashion that defines his attitude and loved by millions of his fans.

He has marvellous batting style and earlier also won many matches for India single-handedly. In 2008, he led the Indian team to victory at the 2008 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup held in Malaysia. After this, he was bought by the Indian Premier League franchise, Royal Challengers Bangalore, for $30,000 on a youth contract.

Some of his best achievements are:

 Indian captain Virat Kohli became the fastest batsman to reach 10000 runs in ODI against West Indies.

 Virat Kohli’s highest score in Asia Cup 2012 was 183* against Pakistan.

 In 2012, VIRAT won People choice Awards of India for Favourite Sportsperson and also became the ODI player of the year.

 In 2013, He was honoured with Arjuna Award for his excellent and outstanding achievement in National Sports.

 He became the First Man of The Match during ICC 2009 Champions Trophy against West Indies.

 His Philanthropic works include a charity foundation (VKF), VIRAT KOHLI FOUNDATION which raise funds and conducts events for underprivileged children.


Virat also has some major achievements as a brilliant entrepreneur .He holds himself among the best 35 entrepreneurs who are changing the game in today’s industries. He stands as an inspiration to every young Indian minds which makes them strong and powerful in terms of breaking the status quotient, rewriting the rules, transforming the world and fulfilling their dreams.

His investments and business venture are as follows-

During 2014, In the London based social networking venture known as “Sport Convo”, virat became the stakeholder as well as the brand ambassador also accompanied by, in association with Anjana Reddy's Universal Sportsbiz (USPL) launched a fashion label WROGN. The brand sells men's casual wear, and it has tied up with online major Myntra.com and Shopper's Stop. According to him, his one of the best future investment was buying FC Goa Franchise of ISL in 2014. He also became the co-owner of the Bengaluru Yodhas Franchise of The Indian Pro Wrestling League. He also became the co-owner of the UAE Royal Franchise for the Indian Premier Tennis League He also invested a total amount of INR 90 crore (around US$14 million) in a chain of gyms and fitness centres - Chisel. Kohli co-owns the fitness chain jointly with Chisel India and CSE (Cornerstone Sport and Entertainment). He is also famous for his style statement and fitness venture, in 2016 he launched Stepathlon Kids in association with Stepathlon Lifestyle – A fitness venture for children which seeks to tackle health and fitness issues affecting kids by taking them through to a 30-day pedometer-based virtual race that will help increase major awareness on health issues. The young inspiration has always wanted to open 10 standalone stores in 2015. Moreover among the highest paid and richest cricketers in the world, Kohli’s brand endorsements were reportedly valued at around Rs 130 crore last year. Currently the brands sitting on his shoulders include MRF, Tissot, Pepsi, Herbalife, Boost, Smaaash, Colgate, Nitesh Estates, Valvoline, Manyavar, Shyam Steel, PNB, Samsonite, Gionee, USL, Vicks, and Audi.

On 30th March 2017, our government of India honoured VIRAT KOHLI with Padma Shri – the fourth highest civilian award for his dedication and contribution to cricket.
